In This Case, We Need More Angry People

We all have things to hide.
We all have things to hide.
That’s what I get from what Glenn Greenwald said when I watched a recording of his TED Talk on privacy. A thing that, up to that point, he had debated for about 16 months, and that was 3 years ago. It all started after the The Guardian journalist published a series of reports that are based on the disclosure of US government’s classified documents by Edward Snowden, the documents that disclose the details of the US and UK’s global surveillance programs. In the talk titled Why privacy matters, Greenwald tried to make it clear to the audience on why they need to care about privacy, even if they are "not doing anything you need to hide."
So why do we have to care about our privacy? Why do we have to care if the government, whether it's our own or a foreign one, does privacy breaches by doing blanket surveillance on us?
